The initiative is part of the retailer’s overall strategy toward sustainability and aims to reinforce commitment to animal welfare and the development of a value chain that guarantees the best quality for the customers.

European Supermarket Magazine reports that from now on, Lidl Portugal will only sell eggs from chickens reared outside of cages and from free-range chickens.
